6 HOLIDAY MOVIES TO PUT ON REPEAT

I love the holidays, mostly because I love the feeling I get when the Christmas tree and banisters are lit, I have a warm cup of hot chocolate or coffee in my favorite Santa Claus mug and I am curled up under the quilt my great-grandmother handmade to watch my favorite holiday movies!

So, the beau and I plan out a calendar where we each get to select our favorite movie to be viewed on a specific day! There is one slot each week until the week prior and of Christmas, then it’s a free for all! Max is 12 for the month, which means I get 6, so, I thought I would share the top 6 that made my list this year!

Home Alone

This movie is a classic and was THE MOVIE to watch around the holidays when I was a kid! I am purist, so I believe that the original movie must be watched and if there is time Home Alone 2. I only watch the movies with Macaulay Culkin!

White Christmas

Funny thing is, I am usually not one for musicals, however, when I stumbled across this 1950’s classic about 10 years ago I fell in love! I know every song and I absolutely sing along! I love to watch Vera Ellen as Judy dance up a storm throughout the movie, and the final scene where they all burst into a rendition of White Christmas is not to be missed!

This Christmas

I love a good wholesome family movie, especially based around the holidays! Though it may be typical, there is strife and then some how the spirit of Christmas brings everyone together, I am still a sucker! In this movie, I am particularly drawn to the fact the singer Chris Brown, pays homage to one of my favorite ‘ole school singers Otis Redding in his performance!

Klaus

Klaus is new on the scene and was only released by Netflix this year! I think the story is absolutely beautiful (a single tear may or may not have dropped toward the resolution of the story). Netflix continues to knock it out of the park and Klaus, for me, was no different! A great story for any child, 1 - 92!

Polar Express

I love animated movies and more points for those based on the holidays! Polar Express is simply genius and as beautifully done on screen as on the pages of the book. Tom Hanks and director Robert Zemeckis really brought this Chris Van Allsburg story to life and even if you are Santa in your own home, you will have no reason but to believe despite the fact!

A Christmas Tale

Now, com’on, you new I had to through a little French culture your way! This year is my second new add, and that is A Christmas Tale, a French film from 2008 starring Catherine Deneuve. It is about a dysfunctional family gathering around Christmas receiving some very unexpected news and a very unexpected visitor!

So do dish…what is on your holiday-movie playlist this year?!
