Episode Summary:

This week on Eat the Damn Bread, we will explore the topics of the French lifestyle and language with the founder of French is Beautiful, Carrie Anne James. We talk about the French philosophy of embracing the interrelatedness of language and culture. Carrie also shares with us her own journey of living in Los Angeles as a language tutor and actress to moving to Paris with her French-business, where she now lives and breathes the culture.

Topics Covered:

— French traditions and culture which reflect the values of unity, beauty, respect, and family.

— The interrelatedness of culture and language in the way we share human values, realities and behaviours.

— Adopting and fully immersing oneself in the French lifestyle.

— How to live abroad and adapt to another culture as well as another language.

— Learning how to live a joie de vivre lifestyle (translated to the "joy of living").

Living life with pleasure and enjoyment is always a priority, whether that’s through social gatherings, excellent food, or beautiful surroundings. The French lifestyle embodies all of these components which can be adopted into our own lives.

If you’re wanting to embrace French culture and its language with (or without) living in France, this week’s episode will divulge some of Carrie Anne James’ best kept secrets on how she lives and breathes a Parisian lifestyle.

Carrie Anne James, a former language tutor and actress from Los Angeles, noticed that there was a shortage of programs available that have truly captured the essence and ease of the French culture. This inspired the creation of her business, French Is Beautiful, where she teaches Francophiles to speak French naturally.

Join us on this week’s episode as we dive into Carrie Anne’s first memories of France, her love affair with philosophy, French culture and her mission to bring ease and joy to those learning French!
